50th Rowing Marathon, Liège, the 20th of october 2007

In October 1957 took place the ever first rowing marathon in Liège organised by the le Royal Sport Nautique de la Meuse.  As you can understand, this year 2007 will be for us a occasion to celebrate the 50th edition of this rendez-vous prized by more than 180 rowers every year.

Our rowing Marathon approaches with great steps.

If your club never took part, our 50th marathon event is the most beautiful occasion for you! Indeed, on one hand the sports aspects of this test are legendary, and on the other hand prices allotted to each participant finishing the test within the deadlines are splendid.

Lots of famous rowers have made remarkable exploits during this world-renowd competition and it is also a ambitious project and a personnal exploit for many rowers.

Wanting to make this 50th editition a fantastic event, we will propose you, beside the competition (detailed farer below), these activities :

1. a Contest of supporters for which will be juged these following aspects :
   - Sound level during encouragements
   - Dressing-up clothes and banderole originality
   - Number of supporters
   
   Conditions :
   - To enrol on the D-Day in the morning (free inscription)
   - To have a name for the supporters team
   - To show his encouragements along the river side near the Sport Nautique building
   - To be present at the prize-giving with all the material you used
   
   Criteria took into account :
   - Number of supporters in the team
   - Originality and aesthetics of your disguises
   - Noise during encouragement
   - Number and quality of your flags and banners
   
   Jury
   Two RSNM members together with representatives of other clubs (1 person per club) who will wish it and who will express it the D-day during the inscription of the team. The jury decisions will be irrevocable with their taste of subjectivity.
   
   Prizes
   First prize : a city bike for your club to follow your teams during the whole year.
   Second prize : 8 discreetly embroidered elegant sports shirts “RSNM”, for your team
   Third to twelfth : a box « Tastevin » per team
   
   
2. 3 stands respectively with cheeses, pork-butcheries and special beers will be open all the day and until late at night in order to make you taste our local specialities at very democratic prices.  So you will be able to taste
   - hams and pies of Aubel, Ets. DETRY BROTHERS
   - cheeses of the abbey of “Val Dieu”
   - Lager Leffe, fresh Orval or one of 12 other special beers of our stand will complete these tastings for your happiness.
   
3. A VIP stand :
   - at 14h.00, leaders or delegates of the clubs will be welcomed under the VIP marquee (each one accompanied by one person if wanted) to taste a welcome drink there.
   - at 18h.30, after the handing-over of the prices, the political and administrative personalities will be received under the VIP marquee to share a convivial drink there
4. Musical evening
   A disc jockey will be present during all the evening and till late at night to animate the evening with dancing music, current hits and evergreens.
5. for the party animals or just for the ones who don’t want to drive back home after such a competition, we will propose you some possibilities to spend the night at very low cost.
   Two different options are offered :
   

   youth hostel	~20 € / person breakfast included
   hotel	~50 € / person breakfast included
